You know how when you hear a song, it has the ability to take you back to the time in your life when that song meant something to you? You can almost “feel” those moments in your life when you hear it. I was driving home after taking my son, Sam, to practice, and the song, “While I’m Waiting” by John Waller, came on the radio. It was the summer of 2009, and there was a lot of uncertainty in my life regarding marriage and finances and career choices. I was absolutely beaten inside to the point of having no other choice but to rely on God; to give it all up. At the time, it honestly felt like a last resort. What I didn’t realize at the time was that completely giving it up to God, and choosing to wait on His answer provided the very best for me. It was in the worst of times, that God was about to show me His very best plan for my life. I won’t go into details in this post, but as I was driving tonight, listening to that song from almost 8 years ago and reminiscing on God’s goodness and provisions for my life, I couldn’t help but smile and feel overwhelmed with gratitude for my life today. God does indeed answer prayers when we wait on Him. Do you have a song?
